Bar Central came recommended by, well, everybody who heard I was going to Archidona. And it’s easy to see why. It’s a traditional restaurant that serves great tapas in a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. You can either sit at the bar (my preferred spot), take a seat at one of the tables on the sidewalk terrace, or eat in either of the two dining areas inside.
Although I was only in town for about 24 hours I managed two visits to Bar Central, both times trying their house speciality lomo a la sal, wonderful salt cured pork loin made on premises. The scallop with octopus and king prawns was also outstanding, but to be honest I enjoyed everything I ate and just wished I had more time to try more things on the menu. There are very good wines by the glass at very reasonable prices and on top of all this you just feel so at home right away thanks to the lovely staff.
