There is no doubt that gastronomy tours have come into their own over the past few years, with more and more people wanting authentic food experiences while visiting other countries, and understanding that food and culture are inseparable. As a long-term resident in Sevilla, and having come here from elsewhere, I feel I know what visitors are looking for and also what difficulties people might face when they first encounter Spanish cuisine – language, some (quite frankly) weird food products, how to order tapas, why not to order sangr\u00eda or paella… it’s quite a list because although I’ve been here for almost 25 years I still remember what it was like.<\/p>\n
The main focus of my food and wine tours is two-fold – that I take people to places they probably wouldn’t have ventured into on their own, and also get them to try dishes they wouldn’t have even thought of trying (for the most part because they wouldn’t have known they existed!). But most of all, to have fun! I try to make it all less intimidating, introduce you to bar and market stall owners and basically show you how to have a great time on your own during the rest of your stay. But even – or maybe especially – if it’s just a quick stop in Sevilla, with over 3,000 tapas bars in the city you really don’t want to waste your time and money having a mediocre tapas experience.<\/p>\n
